81 with a 63 dewpoint & 12mph wind - 1% rain chance at 6pm and 24% at 7pm. To keep everyone as safe as possible from a rain-out, we're bumping sessions an hour earlier. We will keep an eye on weather and adjust times accordingly, so please be sure to check this page before you leave.

WEATHER PREP Be prepared for wind - if you have hair that will blow, please have a plan to pull it back, put it up or wear a hat or headband.
YOUR SESSION
How does it work?
We literally wait on the stairs of a ride while it ends and people get off. We then rush you onto the ride to sit with your pup or have your pup pose as fast as possible, while people are waiting in line to get on the ride next. We shoot quickly and jump off quickly and onto the next shot.
We will decide on scenes when we scout the park before you arrive on shoot day. The Cotton Candy booth, Ticket Kiosk, Carnival Games are musts, in my book. We'll see once we get there (positioning, light, crowd, etc.)
Please do not set your heart on getting on a ride. I will do my best to make that happen, but it depends on a lot of factors that are out of my control (how busy it is, how busy the ride we want is, how well-staffed they are that evening, who they can have running the ride, owner availability and more)
WHAT YOU SHOULD WEAR
Guidelines:

No busy patterns/prints - the Carnival is busy enough

Please do not wear a color that blends in with your dog

NO NEON
-
NO WORD SHIRTS (we want to see you and your dog, not read your shirt - let's keep the focus where we want it)

NO SHORT SHORTS/SKIRTS/DRESSES (you will be posed sitting in the grass, on metal stairs, etc.)

IF YOU DON'T LOVE it - DON'T WEAR IT - you want to look fabulous and be super comfy - take your time NOW to make plans for that.

Plan an outfit with layers in case it's cool or misty out - this way you can drop layers if it's warm and you won't have to figure out a whole new outfit last minute.

Sit, squat, bend forward - in front of a mirror!!! If you don't like what your outfit does (or you have to re-adjust things) - don't wear it!

Have sunglasses you like

Your clothing should not restrict you from sitting or squatting.

Your clothing should not attract or show a lot of dog hair
WHAT YOUR DOG SHOULD WEAR

A FITTED COLLAR (or harness) - Your dog CANNOT slip off their lead at the Carnival - please be SURE the collar or harness they are wearing is properly fitted:

Two-finger rule: Slide two fingers (flat) between the collar and your dog's neck.

If they fit snugly but comfortably, it's good (won't slip off, won't choke).

If only one finger fits → too tight.

If three+ fingers fit easily → too loose (dog can slip out).

Always check regularly as dogs gain/lose weight or grow.

Make sure you like the collar or harness, as they will not be removed in photoshop.

Remove all poop bag dispensers and such

Remove any extra tags you may not want in the photos

NO RETRACTABLE LEASHES!

WHAT TO BRING INSIDE THE CARNIVAL
Only the bare minimum...you don't want to be carrying anything and we only have a backpack. You are able to go back to your car after the shoot and get whatever you need, then return to the Festival, if you'd like.
Some people bring a friend or family member to follow around and hold their stuff. You are welcome to do so.

Plan on arriving well before your appointment time so that there is no chance you will be late.

Make sure you give the pups time to do their business before entering the Carnival.

The walk from parking to the meet spot can be long, depending on when you arrive and where they show you to park. There is also a looooooong, slooooow drive through the grass to get to a parking spot.
